Executive Bio

Executive Profile

Nicole Cassis is a commercially oriented marketing, growth, brand and communications executive with more than 20 years of experience and nearly a decade of leadership within Newfold Digital, a $1.4B global web presence and digital-services company. Her leadership spans ecommerce, acquisition, paid media, affiliate marketing, SEO, GTM strategy, brand, content, communications, PR, executive narrative, AI-enabled workflows and enterprise transformation.

She is best aligned to companies navigating complexity: growth pressure, brand modernization, portfolio evolution, digital acceleration, reputation stakes, post-merger integration, restructuring or the need to connect marketing more directly to commercial performance.

Current Leadership Scope

Nicole currently holds dual enterprise and business-line leadership mandates: she serves as Interim Chief Marketing Officer for the $600M Network Solutions Group and Senior Vice President of Communications for Newfold Digital, a $1.4B global digital-services company.

As Interim CMO, she owns the end-to-end marketing agenda for the $600M Network Solutions Group, with accountability for customer acquisition, ecommerce performance, bookings, revenue, net new MRR, brand transformation, GTM, and marketing efficiency. She directs a $40M annual marketing budget and a 60+ person global organization spanning acquisition, ecommerce, performance media, brand, content, SEO, PR, social, video, reputation and analytics.

Scale of Leadership

Nicole brings a rare combination of growth fluency, brand instinct and communications depth. She manages a total marketing budget of approximately $40M, including roughly $5M per month in paid global media. She leads a global team of approximately 60 people with 13 direct reports, with direct reports across five countries. Her broader business context includes 6M customers across 200 countries, 20M domains under management, 35K+ reseller partners and employees across 18 countries.

Path to Marketing

Her path to executive marketing leadership began with storytelling. Earlier in her career, Nicole worked as an international journalist and magazine editor while living abroad in Egypt and China. That experience shaped the way she leads today: with curiosity, strong questioning skills, cultural fluency, relationship-building, and the ability to find the human meaning inside complex ideas. She has written across science, technology, health, politics, international affairs, executive communications, product narratives, marketing plans, sales decks, video scripts, white papers, press materials and thought leadership.

Enterprise Marketing Foundation

Nicole has built and led marketing and communications functions across a wide range of environments. Earlier at Web.com, she led marketing for the Web.com for Enterprise business division, where she developed and executed marketing and brand strategy, led product marketing and acquisition efforts, and shaped market positioning for franchises, enterprises, corporations and multi-brand customers. Before that, she served as head of marketing for a private law school and as director of research communications at North Carolina A&T, where she worked to elevate the profile of the university’s $60M research enterprise.

She also spent nearly nine years with Arizona State University’s School of Earth and Space Exploration as its first head of marketing and communications, building brand visibility around researchers, discoveries and scientific advancement. During a five-year span, she secured more than 700 media placements in recognized outlets, developing a specialty in translating complex work into stories that earned attention, built credibility and reached broader audiences.

Global Perspective

Nicole’s global perspective was shaped not only by journalism, but by years of international work, travel and service. She co-founded a 501(c)(3) organization while in college and later spent time on the ground in Sierra Leone, training a local team, building donor and media support, developing marketing materials and working with government officials. She also worked in the political arena, running a congressional campaign across three Wisconsin counties and gaining early experience influencing stakeholders, managing pressure and communicating clearly in high-stakes environments.

Leadership Style

Her leadership style is especially valuable in high-change organizations. She is known as the person senior leaders call when something is complex, ambiguous, important or moving fast. She finds the story, organizes the work, brings the right people together and gives teams a clear path forward. Her team would describe her as steady, human, high-standard and encouraging: a leader who sets a high bar while creating the conditions for people to do the best work of their careers.

What Makes Her Different

Nicole operates across both the story and the numbers. She connects brand, customer experience, ecommerce, acquisition, product narrative, executive communications and business performance. Her communications background brings strength in reputation, message and stakeholder alignment, while her marketing scope extends deeply into growth, conversion, SEO, paid media, affiliate and GTM execution.
